Walnut Hill Crafts, Inc., was established in 1976 by Barbara Greenberg and Walter Jaobus, in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina. Crafts are and have played a major role of the Appalachian people for many generations. This influence in reflected in the products which Walnut Hill creates.
Walnut Hill’s goal is to preserve a part of the mountain culture by creating and reproducing a variety of mountain folk toys, puzzles, games and gifts. The pursuit of this goal has been a rewarding experience in itself to all involved with Walnut Hills!
To add the extra dimensions of using an abundance of recycled American chestnut wood, along with many hardwood overruns from local furniture factories has also given the fine folks at Walnut Hill great satisfaction!
