I have a degree in Literature and Creative Writing from Montreal College. My art is often inspired by things that I read: fantasy, mythology, YA and middle grade lit, and classics. I also find nuggets of inspiration from horror stories settings and characters overcoming obstacles in historical nonfiction.
I am mostly self-taught as an artist. I took art lessons for several years in elementary school and never lost the love for drawing and painting. I work mostly in acrylic paints, but also love to draw with pen or pencil and make fully digital art occasionally.
At this time, I work full time as a print manager at a UPS Store, where I’ve honed my formatting, touch-up and printing skills. I create and sell art in my free time, but would eventually like to pursue art and writing full time. I have been a member of ZaPow Illustrative Art Gallery since March 2012, and have had my art displayed in a few local coffee shops, bookstores, and a home decor shop. I attend several arts/crafts festivals in the summer, where I get the chance to meet my customers face to face and evaluate the popularity of my different designs, the formats that sell best, the prices that work best, hear requests for new items, etc.
I am always interested in feedback and thinking of new ways to improve my art.
