Lindsey Mae Stimpson Mitchell was born and raised in Wiston-Salem, North Carolina. Growing up with a general contractor as a father and an interior designer as a mother, Lindsey was surrounded with sources of creativity and inspiration throughout her childhood. She attended Meredith College, where she majored in Studio Art and minored in Business Administration.
Lindsey now works at Alamance Arts Council as office manager. Working at Alamance Arts during the day, she paints in her studio at night. Her main medium is acrylic painting. She exhibits her work regularly and also creates custom, commission-based pieces.
Each painting is created by building layers upon layers, working intuitively to find a place of satisfaction. She paints a variety of subject matters and describes her body of work as “loose, colorful and full of energy.”
