“I feel that I was born to create. I love it when my art inspires a memory or an emotion and leaves the viewer feeling good.”
Carolyn is a native of Mebane, NC and an award-winning artist who has been drawing and painting since she could hold a pencil. She began studying art many years ago, which led in turn to teach both adults and children. She enjoys working in many media, including oil, watercolor, and acrylic, as well as sewing and crafts.
After studying portraiture, she began to paint portraits, but she also finds inspiration in nature and loves to paint flowers, landscapes, and seascapes. Her paintings hang in private and corporate collections in several states and in Mexico, and in art galleries in North Carolina and along the North Carolina and South Carolina coast.
Carolyn began creating miniature paintings for an art show several years ago and became fascinated with the process. Her miniature paintings hang in collections across many states and in shops and galleries across the Piedmont area. Three of her miniature paintings were accepted in the International Miniature Show at the Seaside Gallery in Nags Head.
A specialty for Carolyn is hand painted and personalized wood eggs that have become a collector’s item for many customers.
